經夏威夷教區主教的批准，檀香山天主教華人教務中心由盧湛明神父於 1995 年成立。後經耶穌聖心會修女的協助，本中心得以在 Kaimuki 聖心學校的聖堂活動。兩年後，獲得主教和海星堂本堂神父同意，本團體移至 Kahala 海星堂直到如。1999 年盧神父被調回加拿大工作後，分別由吳炳誼及金男神父神父帶領，目前由李東民神父 為本中心神師。本中心尚得海星堂本堂神父 Fr. Frankie De los Reyes和多位修女支持。 聖母海星堂, Mary Star of the Sea Parish The Chinese Catholic Ministry (CCM) of Honolulu was founded by Fr. Aloysius Lou in 1995, and formed through the authority of the Bishop of the Diocese of Honolulu.  CCM's first meeting and Mass were held at the chapel of the Carmelite Monastery.  With the help of the Sacred Heart Sisters, CCM relocated to the chapel at Sacred Hearts Academy.  Two years later, CCM moved to its current location at Star of the Sea Parish in Kahala.  Fr. Lou, upon his departure for a new mission, was succeeded by Fr. Andrew Ng and Fr. John Keenan, followed by our current priest and Chaplin, Fr. Paul Li.  We are also blessed to have the help of Mary, Star of the Sea pastor Fr. Francisco De los Reyes and several nuns.
